DRUM AND PERCUSSION CLASSES:

Learn exciting rhythms to play on the doumbek (darbuka), a simple hand drum from the Middle East.

Tahja will make it all seem very simple and fun with her innovative teaching style which is guaranteed to have you drumming in no time, no matter what level of percussionist you are.

Tahja has been involved in Middle Eastern and Flamenco music since childhood and was musical director of the ensemble Ya Salaam for 30 years.    She is a musician of many instruments as well as a dancer.

Her Middle Eastern percussion specialty is Turkish and Arabic rhythms on doumbek and zills.

Her passion is playing and teaching how to play for belly dancers.

Tahja also teaches Flamenco rhythms on cajon, and Polynesian rhythms on toere.
